Purpose of LinnéFiler
LinnéFiler is built with ease of use for your staff as our highest priority. Our software supports the daily routines and work process for all professions in the clinic. Tailored to your clinic’s specific needs, our software is customized to the routines you have already established in your clinic. Through sharing clinical progress instantaneously with the doctor, embryologist, nurse and medical secretary, LinnéFiler provides the hub for true clinical teamwork.
With LinnéFiler, you can easily monitor of clinical outcome and other information that helps to improve your success rates. You can quickly search every field and also make cumulative searches. This makes it easy to check not only clinical outcome, but also the impact of new methods, media etc. You can also extract any data for statistical analysis or set up a customized data report.
A quality reference model is also included. The use of this model is validated and gives predicted pregnancy rate based on embryo quality, patient age etc. The model is used to measure clinic result in a selected group of treatments versus the reference model, even with a modest number of treatments.
LinnéFiler is a client-server solution. This means highest possible uptime and stability and that the daily work at the clinic is not dependent of any disturbance of internet access. It is also a question of security, minimizing the risk that patient or treatment information fall into wrong hands. Other types of clients can be used, as tablets (iPad is preferred) or web browser based clients. This type of clients can lack some features available in a full work station client.

The work station can use either Windows or OS. Information about the minimum specifications to run the latest version of a FileMaker Pro client can be found at www.filemaker.com. Minimal display resolution for LinnéFiler is 1280x960, but higher resolution and multiple displays are of use in many situations.
The technical specification of the physical server is based on the current version of FileMaker Server and the number of users. A standard configuration of a server is a Windows 64bit operating system with two to three disks (OS, active software, backup). Secondary backup to external media or server is mandatory.

In order to function properly, LinnéFiler uses two supporting systems. ivfServices handles logging of all addition and changes of information in the patient and treatment areas of LinnéFiler. This software works in the background and assists LinnéFiler in certain tasks. A reporting module is built in to ivfServices to handle recurrent analyses of the clinic work. Report templates can be constructed by the clinic staff. Mirth is used as a tool to create integration between LinnéFiler and other data systems or technical equipment, often in combination with ivfServices.

We release a new version of LinnéFiler two to four times per year. Requests from our customers, new technology or methods in the ART field, interface improvements, changes in laws and regulations and our own ideas make up our list of features to implement in the next release.
With each release, information about new functionality, modifications and bug fixes is presented in a release note at http://www.linnefiler.com/upgrade/. Not all upgrades are mandatory. When an upgrade is to be installed, the new version is installed on the server by distance access. Normally no installation is needed at client work stations to use the new release.
Audit and access
All data recorded or modified by any user is logged and saved in an audit database. This database can be queried by user, patient, field, date etc. For each patient, treatment, embryo and sperm analysis, all additions and modification of all fields is displayed in a History screen for the specific record. An access logging module is also included.
Access to individual fields, tables and functionality is set to an access groups. A group (and user) can have full access, read only or no access to field and tables. (Technical note: Active directory groups can be used).
We have done multiple conversions and translations from other systems to LinnéFiler. In order to know if conversion from another software or from excel is possible, we first need to analyze the information.
LinnéFiler can be integrated with other computing systems, software applications and analytic equipment. This includes integration with hospital patient registry for demographics (HL7v3), infection and hormone test results, equipment and other external systems. We can also create custom integrations to systems in use at your clinic.

In customizable templates, data recorded in LinnéFiler is directly imported into your print layout. All printouts of patient documents or internal document or work sheets, are found in a separate print layouts file. If modifications must be made to a document, this can be done directly by your clinic. Stimulation schedules for patients, preparation for OPU or ET, result of embryo development, cryo storage, sperm analysis result and other types of patient information can be printed in more than one language. Support exist for printing of dish labels and cryo straw labels with Brady label printers. Bar codes can be also be printed.
